They look forward to a light, whipped and delicious cream dessert. The mousse I will introduce is served in little cups, to serve individually and it is called "pots of cream." Apple Pie- You will need to start 2 hours before serving or early in the day
(6 servings)
What you will need
- You will need a pre-made or homemade crust for the pie. I will post how to make a crust later on, but for now lets stick to the pre-made crust.
- 2/3-3/4 cups of sugar.
- 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour.
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg.
- 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel.
- 1-2 teaspoons lemon juice.
- 6-7 cups of sliced , peeled and cored cooking apples-make the slices thin. There should be about 2 pounds of apple.
- 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
- Milk
Step 1- You will need to prepare the pastry and roll it out and line it in a 9 inch pie plate. Do not use all of the pastry as you will need it for the top crust later on.
Step 2-Combine the sugar and the next 5 ingredients into a small bowl.
Step 3- Place half of the apple slices in the pie crust. Sprinkle half of the sugar mixture onto the apples, then place the rest of the apple slices and then sprinkle the other half of sugar mixture. THERE SHOULD BE TWO LAYERS OF APPLE SLICES AND SUGAR MIXTURE.
Step 4- Dot the filling with butter or margarine. Preheat your oven to 435 degrees F.
Step 5- Roll the rest of the pasty for the top crust and make leaf-shaped designs onto the crust. There should me 4-5 leaf shaped designs. You can buy a floured leaf shaped cookie cutter to make the design.
Step 6- On the outside of the crust, fold the pastry to create a pie-plate rim. Make a decoratuve edge around your crust.
Step 7- To create a nice golden glaze, brush the top crust(do not brush the edge) lightly with milk. Bake the pie for 40-50 minutes or until the crust is golden.
Step 8- Serve and Enjoy
